A sketchbook is a great place to keep all of your artwork together in one spot. It is a place where you can try things out or plan out new ideas. It also helps you track your growth as an artist as your work changes!
There's nothing wrong with buying a sketchbook at the store or using an old folder or notebook- but sometimes it is fun to make your own!
Magazine Sketchbook/Scrapbook:
To make a magazine sketchbook you will need: an old magazine or book, scissors, glue, different types of papers, markers (or something to write or draw with), embellishments of your choosing (like stickers, magazine cut-outs, photos etc)
For my sketchbook I picked a magazine with a picture on the front that I liked already! Then I used colorful paper and stickers to cover up the parts I didn't want to see. Make sure you glue your paper down well. You can use markers, magazine cut-outs, stickers, photos, and more to decorate your cover! Make sure you put your name on it.
For the rest of the pages I glued down a variety of papers I might want to draw or write on. I taped a couple pages together to make a pocket. I glued down some artwork I already made this week as well as some photos I really like!
