Draw A Pet Portrait Assignment: A pet portrait is a picture, painting, or drawing of a pet! A pet portrait shows what the animal looks like and often their interests or personality. 1. Pick one of the cats below. Take a really good look at the cat and read their story. 2. Draw a picture of the cat. Make sure you pay attention to any markings they may have. What can you put in the picture with them? Can you take parts of their story and put them in the artwork? Add color with paint, crayons, colored pencils, or markers and remember to fill all the space!
This is a pet portrait that I did of a cat named Meeko that lives in South Carolina. He loves to snuggle up on warm blankets!
3. Share your art! PAWS would love to share your artwork with their volunteers and fans! Email a good quality photo of your artwork to pawsctshelter@gmail.com and be sure to include the name of the cat and the artist! You can also drop the artwork off at the shelter on Saturday from 11:30-1:30 (maybe bring a donation with you)! Your art might make someone want to take one of these kitties home!
